We're inspired by natural beauties and a few hairs out of place. We don't want to change your texture, coat your hair with heavy ingredients or create product build-up. We're not trying to make thin hair thick or curly hair straight. We develop gentle products for better hair because we want you to feel good wearing your hair. We love a bit of fuzz or frizz, a little bend, a little slouch, and we'll help enhance yours. Stick with us — sooner or later you'll be talking your friends into air-drying, ditching their blow-dryer, and using fewer, better products.
We're obsessed with old-school service. Whether it's coming from five star hotels and Michelin starred restaurants or your local coffee shop and bodega. Those memorable moments stick with us — they catch us by surprise and change our day for the better. Years of being in the service industry taught us that genuinely being into our clients, and doing our part to make someone else's day is the best part of the job. That's why our brand is not about us, it's about you. We’re not a founder-centric brand, we’re a you-centric brand. We’re not celebrity-centric brand, we’re a you-centric brand. And we not the stars for creating a cool product company, you’re the stars for helping us get here. We're here to design what we know you'll love, what you'll actually use, and what's best for your routine and hair health.
We know sometimes clean beauty can seem highfalutin, overpriced, or like it's just not your thing. At allyoos, we like to treat our community like family, like cousins. We totally geek out over thinking of ways to not only develop cool, gentle products, but to build community and spread love the allyoos way. We use real girls in our photoshoots, we use our own community of family and friends to test product submissions, we give consumers our grandparent's Sunday Sauce recipe, and we have a strong initiative to keep our products $30 and under. Listen, clean beauty is more expensive to formulate. Organic ingredients are costly, essential oils have a higher price tag than synthetic and natural fragrance, and clean performance alternatives cost more than conventional performance ingredients. We know it’s worth it, and although our costs are high, especially being a small brand, we want more and more people to be able to experience clean beauty – and that’s why we’re keeping it accessible. Pretty soon clean beauty will just be beauty, when everyone else finally catches up. We're building a soulful, friendly, accessible clean beauty brand and we’re so glad you’re joining us!
Our formulas contain a blend of organic ingredients, fruit and veggie extracts and oils, and gentle alternatives to harsh, conventional chemicals. Our formulas are always over 80% plant-based and we don’t use synthetic or natural fragrance – our brand scent is made up of a blend of essential oils.
Our packaging is made from PCR materials. PCR stands for post-consumer recycled. You can feel good using our products knowing they contain clean ingredients, organic ingredients, and are all wrapped up in recycled materials. You can also recycle our tubes after you’ve used them all up. Our boxes are designed for storytelling and are also made from recycled materials that are recyclable. They are printed with low VOCs and vegetable-based inks. If there is a better way to formulate or package hair care, we’re evaluating it and keeping it as clean and sustainable as we possibly can.
Our team is made up of three moms, with five kids between us all. We are looking at ingredient lists – from cleaning supplies to food, beauty to bath time, we have stringent guidelines for deciding what enters our homes. Name the category, we are shopping the cleanest brands. Our founder, Sam, also has a formula and hairdressing background, so we know how to sift through an ingredient list to make sure it’s up to our standards. There is more to being clean than removing things like parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. These are super entry level claims that conventional brands have been making for years — long before “clean” was even a buzzword. There’s a lot of education and formula work that needs to be done to get your formulas actually-clean, and we’re on it.
