Allyoos Hair Tips For Fall

It's apple picking season — let's talk about what that means for your hair. As the leaves start to change color and the air gets crispyyy (yay!) — you could start noticing a difference in your hair texture and appearance. The transition from summer humidity to cooler, drier weather could leave your hair feeling dry, brittle, or more prone to damage. Adjusting your hair care routine is an easy solve — and we’ll tell you exactly what we’re doing to keep our hair looking healthy and vibrant.

Here’s how you can protect your hair this fall season:

Dry, Static-y Strands: As temps drop, the air loses moisture — and the lack of humidity can strip moisture from your hair. Ugh — this can leave strands dry and prone to static aka frizzer hair that’s a little tricker to style. We were used to doing the bare minimum in the summer, easy air-dries etc. So our hair can feel a little more high maintenance in the fall. If you’re into natural, low maintenance hair like me, my tried and true non-negotiables are a weekly hair mask with Juice Drench and 10000% colostrum everyday. EVERYDAY!

Sensitive Scalps: The change in weather can also affect your scalp. If your scalp is feeling extra dry, flaky, or irritated — I would try a clean, gentle scalp scrub. I’ve used and like Goop’s G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub. I would swing this into your routine once a week — make this your deep clean day. And then actually, I would cut shampoo days in half and use A Quick Clean to rinse for the other half. If you’re taking colostrum, this will also help optimize scalp health.

Split Ends, Breakage, & Brittle Strands: The combo of dry air x wind is not your hair’s BFF. Oh, and add in heat styling multiple times a week — yikes. Did you get a trim yet? It’s like mid-September, so it’s totally time for a trim. Get a fresh one to clean up strands and lift up your shape — especially after your hair has seen THE BEST of all the summer elements. First things first, trim it up, less heat stying — and huge tip that I do and swear by, especially if your hair is going through a brittle phase — sleep in a braid.

MOISTURIZZZE Is Your New Favorite Word: My oily scalp girlies, yes even you! You need a weekly hair mask — you need Juice Drench — really dedicate one day to soaking your hair in Juice Drench. Next, you need to cut shampoo days in half and start rinsing with A Quick Clean if you’re not already. Eliminating over-washing is key. And as far as a good moisturizing shampoo goes — my new favorite is Hydrating Cream Hairbath by Innersense. It’s a CLEAN, great hydrating shampoo that’s super gentle in-between your rinse days.

Cut Heat Styling Days In Half: It’s no secret that heat styling is not your BBFL either. I get it, but just try to at least cut heat styling days in half. There are so many other ways besides heat styling to have cute hair. This is why I’m obsessed with headbands! I could write a whole blog post on headbands — maybe I will. So just try to cool it with the flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers. I’d say to apply a heat protection spray beforehand, but those are loaded with harsh chemicals. This is where your weekly Juice Drench Bun days payoff — healthier strands will standup better to heat styling. So get your hair mask days innn.

So, lots of goodies in here — weekly Juice Drench Bun days, get the Goop Scalp Scrub, get the Innersense Shampoo for moisture (until we make one!), cut your shampoo days in half and start rinsing with A Quick Clean if you’re not already, sleep in a braid, grab some colostrum, and cut down on the heat styling. Voilà! You’re a healthy hair E X P E R T.
